Liu Jingnan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, professor and doctoral advisor of Wuhan University, former president of Wuhan University and Duke Kunshan University, expert of the National “973 Program” Advisory Group, coordinating member of the International GPS Service for Geodynamics, and member of the Expert Committee of China’s Beidou Navigation Satellite System. He is currently the director of the National Engineering Research Centre for Satellite Positioning System. Liu Jingnan has been engaged in geodetic theory and application research and teaching for a long time. He has undertaken a series of pioneering work in geodetic coordinate system theory, Beidou satellite navigation and positioning technology, software development and major engineering applications, especially in the field of global satellite navigation system (GNSS) technology application and engineering, where he is a leader in our country. He is also a pioneer in the field of satellite navigation and positioning engineering applications in our country. He has won 6 State Science and Technology Progress Awards, more than 30 provincial and ministerial awards, and the honorary title of “National Advanced Science and Technology Worker”. In 2019, he won the Outstanding Contribution Award of Science and Technology of Hubei Province, the highest level science and technology award in Hubei Province.
